Synopsis:
When Summer took a job as a nanny for a couple vacationing in Belize, she imagined it would be a fresh start before starting college in the fall. And while she adores her charge, Josh, she can’t say the same for her employers’ oldest son, Bray. He’s cocky, inconsiderate, and makes her feel she’s a chore he has to put up with. In short, he’s everything she dislikes in a guy.

Bray had a plan for the summer: party, hang out with friends, and forget all the responsibilities waiting for him back home. But every time he’s forced to be around Summer, her sour, serious mood sets him off. Not to mention she has a habit of picking up on what he already knows is wrong with him.

Then the two find themselves on a dive trip gone wrong, stranded on a remote island. As they focus on survival, their differences melt away, and they find being together may be what both needed all along

My Thoughts:
Alright y'all, I'm going to try and finish up with the summer book reviews here. I really, really wanted to like this book, but I just couldn't really connect with the characters and to me, the ending kind of felt rushed. When I first read the synopsis I immediately thought of "On the Island" by Tracey Garvis-Graves. While the plot is similar, these books are completely different from each other.
Summer is looking for a fresh start. After her boyfriend died in her arms, she's ready for a new place, so when she gets the job of nanny for a couple who are vacationing in Belize, she's overjoyed. She adores the little boy that she is babysitting, but when his older brother Bray shows up, she wants nothing to do with him. Bray is hoping that by spending time with his family that his parents will not get divorced. Flash forward to a dive trip and a storm capsizing Bray and Summer's boat stranding them on a deserted island. Basically, the island was going to be a luxurious resort until a hurricane destroyed it. Bray and Summer get closer on the island and Summer tells him what happened to her with her boyfriend and how he died. This book was ok, but a little unrealistic towards the end. We have animal traffickers and undercover agents, a proposal, and Bray getting shot. There was also a lack of chemistry between Bray and Summer, that could also be because there's no sex and nothing sexual. If you're looking for a clean read, you'll love this book. If you want sex and chemistry, read On the island.
