MY THOUGHTS:
First things first, let's all take a moment of silence for the end of another amazing trilogy by J. Kenner. I was dreading reading the last chapter because I did not want the book to end. Even though I am sad about the end up of this series, this last book did tie everything together with a pretty little bow. When we last left Jackson and Sylvie they were in Santa Fe visiting Jackson's daughter, Ronnie, when Jackson was informed that he was a suspect in the killing of Reed, the evil man that photographed Sylvie and was making the movie about the Fletcher's. Under my skin picks up right where that left off. I liked the fact that this book had more brotherly interactions between Damien and Jackson, they both finally accepted that they were family.
Sylvie was the star of the show for me though, her character had the most development. She grew so much, finally accepting what happened to her when she was modeling and being forthcoming with that to Jackson's lawyers to try and help his case. She showed a tremendous amount of bravery and courage. There's also something that happens with her Father that really shows, us, as the readers, how far she's come. Sylvie also had to come to terms with being a role model for Ronnie and that role model role morphing into a Mothering role. Sylvie may very well be my favorite heroine in all the J. Kenner books I've read.
Jackson's character also had some development when it came to him having the urge to go fight. Although, lets face it, Jackson is pretty much the perfect dominant alpha-male that we all would like to know. I think in this book, we got to see a whole other side of Jackson, and that was the Daddy side and Brother side. While I am very sad this series is over, I'm glad to know that all my favorite characters are living happily after. If you need a refresher on the last book on my knees you can find my review here
