MY THOUGHTS:
I've never really had an interest in reading about the whole paranormal thing with witches and warlocks, but for some reason this book intrigued me. I'm so glad I listened to my instincts and took a chance on this book. Admittedly, I was a little lost because I didn't read this first book, but I caught up pretty fast. Brye and her sisters are half-witch and half-warlock, and mostly human. None of them know anything about powers or spells or even defending themselves. Brye was attacked by a warlock named Lar, always being known as the "pretty one", Lar injects some sort of acid into the scratch he put on her face, marring her face and destroying her confidence. Brye is also being blackmailed and abused by Lar, he threatens to kill her family if she doesn't join the warlocks. Deciding that she has to save her family, she convinces Lar to give her two weeks. hoping she can find a way to get out of it. What Brye didn't expect was to start a sexual relationship with Josh, who broke her heart in high school, that leads to real feelings being involved. Josh has always loved Brye, Josh is also all human. As Brye tries desperately to learn how to defend herself and save her family from being killed, she falls head-over-heels for Josh. This book had everything I would want from a paranormal romance, Fighting, hot sex, more fights and more sex. Oh, and with a dash of witch-y-ness. I really hope there's another book, because now that I'm hooked, I need more.
