MY THOUGHTS: I really enjoyed this book. I love Melody Anne's writing. Whitney Steele knows that no good can come from a police officer coming to your door at 3 a.m. Learning that her sister and her husband were killed in a car accident is the worst thing to ever happen to Whitney, having no other family besides her sister. Pulling herself together she realizes that her sister's children need her. Fast forward a year to after the accident and Whitney once again finds a stranger at her door step, only this time the man claims that the children have a Grandpa who would like nothing more than to know his grandchildren. After talking it over with the children, Whitney agrees to take the children to NY to get to know their Father's side of the family. My first thoughts of Liam, the childrens uncle, were not nice. I really didn't see how he could redeem himself. He set out to seduce Whitney in a ploy to move the children across the country from Oregon to NY, only to find himself falling for Whitney. This is a short read about losing someone you love and picking up the pieces to move on.
