Synopsis:
In this “gripping tale for lovers of dystopian romance” (Kirkus Reviews), true feelings are forbidden, teen suicide is an epidemic, and the only solution is The Program.

Sloane knows better than to cry in front of anyone. With suicide now an international epidemic, one outburst could land her in The Program, the only proven course of treatment. Sloane’s parents have already lost one child; Sloane knows they’ll do anything to keep her alive. She also knows that everyone who’s been through The Program returns as a blank slate. Because their depression is gone—but so are their memories.

Under constant surveillance at home and at school, Sloane puts on a brave face and keeps her feelings buried as deep as she can. The only person Sloane can be herself with is James. He’s promised to keep them both safe and out of treatment, and Sloane knows their love is strong enough to withstand anything. But despite the promises they made to each other, it’s getting harder to hide the truth. They are both growing weaker. Depression is setting in.

And The Program is coming for them.

My thoughts:
I found that I really liked this book. I read a review on it somewhere and it looked like a book I would like. It reminds me of Lauren Oliver's Delirium series. It's tricky to say what this book is about, there's depression and suicide, but at the same time its so much more than that. Even after Sloane's brother killed himself, she cant be sad. Being sad is a sign of depression and when you're depressed in this book it's a sign you're going to commit suicide. Since her brother committied suicide that makes Sloane an even bigger target. James was her brothers best friend and he's also Slones boyfriend. After one of their friends takes quikdeath, Jame's slips into depression and gets taken by The Program. When you get sent into the program you basically lose all your unpleasant memories and for James, that means losing memories of Sloane. Sloane not being able to take Jame's getting taken away, she finds herself not caring anymore if she get's taken into the program. The thing is, the program is supposed to take away all unpleasant memories of anyone you love, when both Sloane and James get out of the program and see each other, Sloane feels like she knows James, but shes not sure how. This book left off with sloane and James knowing that they belong together, but having no memories of it. During the last page, they have to leave the state because they've been flagged and their "handlers' know that the program did not work for them. Sorry this review is all choppy, I couldn't really express what this book is about without this review being 5 pages long. Have any of y'all read it? What was your thoughts if you have? Let me know! I love feedback
