Synopsis:  Yoga instructor Jessalyn Alcott radiates peace, calm, and serenity—on the outside. Inside, she still feels like the broken, desperate girl from the trailer park. She’s got dark secrets she can’t share, which is why she never lets her relationships go beyond the third date. But when she travels to the Whisper Creek dude ranch for a friend’s wedding, Jess is enchanted by a cowboy whose deep blue eyes, dimpled smile, and rock-hard body make it tough to remember why she keeps running scared.

Cole Driscoll has struggled to find his place on a family ranch where he’s always played second fiddle. His future might be uncertain, but he’s sure of one thing: He wants Jess by his side. Easier said than done. When it comes to getting close, she’s full of excuses, and he longs to fix the hurt he sees in her eyes. Now that she’s at Whisper Creek, there’s nothing he wants more than to break down the walls around her heart and heal her pain with the power of love.

My Thoughts: One word; COWBOYS!!! Who doesn't love authentic cowboys? Complete with stetsons. I know I do, and I completely fell in love with Cole (shhh no one tell my husband I have a thing for cowboys). Jess aka Star Smith was born in a trailer park in a town outside Charleston, Sc. She didn't have the best childhood growing up. She was emotionally and physically abused by her Mama and her boyfriend, Billy. She never told anyone what was happening though, she kept it all to herself until her Grampy discovered the truth and help her escape the hell she was living in. She eventually moved to Boston where she became a yoga instructor. On the day she is leaving for Whisper Creek dude ranch in Montana, Jess gets a letter from a lawyer saying that her Grampy has died and left her $25,000. She also realizes that her past is about to catch up with her.  Now we have Cole, sweet, sweet Cole. Cole is your do-it-all cowboy with a reputation of being a ladies man. He put off his dream of going to college at Stanford to become a doctor so he could stay home and run the ranch. Cole would do anything for those he consider's family. He has made sacrifices to keep Whisper Creek running when his older brother got banished from the farm by his alcoholic Dad. These characters have tons of depth and will make you fall in love with them. This book is a must have.
