Synopsis:
After a disastrous, reputation-destroying party at the end of junior year, Kat Henley has a new plan. When it comes to boys--especially other people's boys:

Don't touch.
Don't smile.
Don't charm.

In the past, drawing attention to herself helped distract people from what really makes Kat different--having two gay parents. But it's also cost her friendships. Kat can't afford to lose any more of those, especially not her cousin, Harper. They're spending one last summer together at the lake, where they run into an intriguing newcomer named Emmett Reese. After years of trying to prove she's just like everybody else, Kat has found someone who wants her because she's not. A boy who could be everything she wants too--if Harper hadn't liked him first. . .

My Thoughts:
This was such a good book. I really enjoyed Kat and her Dad's personalities. This reminded me of a Morgan Matson book that I read. in the way that it has a lake setting and a boy.
Kat learned when she was little that if she drew the attention to her, people wouldn't focus on the fact that she has two Father's. After her best friend thinks she hits on her boyfriend, Kat can't wait to get to the lake and have an awesome summer with her cousin Harper. Harper and Kat are complete opposites. Emmett is the newcomer this summer and right away is drawn to Kat, the only problem is that Harper has already claimed that she likes him. Kat decides that she will help Harper get Emmett, This book was like a love triangle. With a lot of self-realization and growing up. Almost like a coming of age book. Rebecca Phillips has such a great way of hooking readers and making them feel like they are in the book. This book couldn't of been better.
