FRIGID AFFAIR

Publication Date: February 15, 2016
Publisher: JMF PUBLISHING INC.

A treacherous winter storm brought him to me. While the wind ripped, freezing everything in reach, he was a warm distraction, albeit a constant reminder of what I'd been missing. I thought I'd never see him again. I was content with it being a one-night-stand.

My Thoughts:
I've really been loving all of Jennifer Foor's books, I've read almost every one of her books and let me tell y'all, they keep getting better. Amantha lost her whole family, deciding to move to Alaska and live off the land was her plan, until one night when she is saved from a fire and has a steamy one-night stand. This book has everything you've come to expect from this author, a riveting story-line, twists and turns, and hot sex scenes. It did take me a while to really get locked into the book, but once I was hooked, I was a goner. If you're new to this author, this would be a great start.

Excerpt:
"You’re my hero. You saved my life. Let me thank you properly.”
He scratched his head. “For a second I assumed you were going to compliment me. Now I feel like the only guy left for the job. You really know how to make a man feel wanted.”
I let a cackle slip out. “I’m sorry. I suppose I tell it like it is.” I took my finger and looped it into the hem of his pants. He stepped closer, breaking the distance between us. There wasn’t time to look in the mirror and tell myself how inappropriate my mother would say I was acting. This was my life, and parts of me were tired of being neglected. I needed to feel something other than alone, even if only for a little while. “How about we take off these clothes before the warm water runs out?”
His hand latched onto my chin, bringing it up until I could feel his lips grazing over mine. “If you want someone to give it to you good, I can be your guy. I just need you to make me a promise.”
I whispered. “Sure.”
“You can’t hold back. I know we’re battling sleep deprivation, and at some point we’re going to crash, albeit I don’t have anywhere else to be, at least for the next ten or so hours. Let’s forget who we are and what happened in the past. Tonight, it’s just us. If you can do that, I’ll be whatever you need me to be. I want this to happen. I didn’t think I would, but I can’t resist giving you what you want, not when I need it too.” With regard to what he said, I tried to read his expression. He seemed like he was battling demons, and I wasn’t in the mood to stop and ask if he wanted to talk about it. We weren’t friends. I couldn’t help him. I’d run away from everything, proving to be a poor example of a person who could deal with struggles.
I nodded in response. “That won’t be a problem.” It was true. I hadn’t had sex in so long that I knew I wouldn’t be able to think about anything else. My heart was racing and I felt like I was going to pass out, not at all from the smoke inhalation either. I was elated with excitement for what was about to occur between us, almost to the extent of losing consciousness.

I wrapped my legs around his waist and fell in to another kiss, this one more heated.
His tongue coursed over mine, the taste of him familiar and welcoming.

We'd been married seven years, and for the most part, I thought we were happy. Little did I know my other half wasn't. He'd been screwing around on me for the past six months. Now, on the verge of divorce, I've found myself in a conundrum.

My Thoughts:
I really enjoyed this book, even though I'm never too fond of reading books with cheating. Rachel thought that she and Grayson had the perfect marriage until she came home early after learning that her company was closing, only to find her husband screwing their daughters friend and the girl that went on family vacations with them, Kyla. After kicking him out Rachel completely loses it and drinks herself silly, Until there is a knock at the door, her boss's grandson and heir to the company Chad, who she can't stand. Offering Rachel an opportunity to work with the new company he's starting Needless to say, Rachel starts a steamy affair with Chad. Both realize that this could never work between them, they try and call it off, only to find out that it's not that simple. Rachel and Chad develop a strong friendship and start developing feelings for each other, while Rachel is still married.  Honestly, I think Rachel chose wrong at the end of the book. Cheating just isnt cool, ever, Besides that, it was a really good read.

EXCERPT:
My wife didn’t want to see me, and who could blame her? I’d fucked up. I’d let a little ass ruin my marriage, and that’s exactly what it was coming to. Rachel was a strong-willed woman. She was set in her ways and liked being in control of the situation. I admired her strength, and the way she was able to manage multiple problems at once. This though, this broke her. I saw it in her desperate eyes. She was broken – lost – destroyed, all because I couldn’t keep my dick in my pants. I saw an opportunity to feel young again and I dove right in, knowing the consequences would bite me in the ass at some point. I made the decision out of greed. I wanted to feel empowered; like I was able to get someone young and attractive. For a little while I felt like the king of the world. I thought I’d get away with it. The more it happened, the harder it was to imagine getting caught.
