If she has her way…

Willa Davis is wrangling puppies when Keane Winters stalks into her pet shop with frustration in his chocolate-brown eyes and a pink bedazzled cat carrier in his hand. He needs a kitty sitter, stat. But the last thing Willa needs is to rescue a guy who doesn’t even remember her…

…He’ll get nothing but coal in his stocking.

Saddled with his great-aunt’s Feline from Hell, Keane is desperate to leave her in someone else’s capable hands. But in spite of the fact that he’s sure he’s never seen the drop-dead gorgeous pet shop owner before, she seems to be mad at him…

Unless he tempers “naughty” with a special kind of nice…

Willa can’t deny that Keane’s changed since high school: he’s less arrogant, for one thing—but he doesn’t even remember her. How can she trust him not to break her heart again? It’s time to throw a coin in the fountain, make a Christmas wish–and let the mistletoe do its work…

My Thoughts:
I have been a huge fan on Jill Shalvis for years. I read the first book in the lucky harbor series and I've been hooked ever since. I own every single one of her books. It may be a little early too break out the Christmas decorations and books (its still 90 here), I couldn't pass up the opportunity to read this book.
The trouble with mistletoe falls into the Heartbreaker bay series. A series that I am loving so far. I love how all the characters always makes an appearance in other books. I also really loved Willa and Keane. Willa had such a hard life that I was really hoping that something good would find its way to her. Christmas is the perfect time to right a wrong and give love a second chance, If you've never read a book by Jill Shalvis (the bigger question is why haven't you read her books?), you should really give this book and this series a chance. You can't help but to fall in love with all the characters.

Review: Embrace me by Ann Marie Walker & Amy K. Rogers

Return to the dangerous and seductive romance
that got pulses racing in the Chasing Fire trilogy...

EMBRACE ME
A Chasing Fire Novella (#3.5)
Ann Marie Walker & Amy K. Rogers
Releasing September 20th, 2016
Berkley Intermix

Hudson Chase and Alessandra Sinclair's heartracing romance continues in this hot, new novella in the Chasing Fire series.

Return to the dangerous and seductive romance that got pulses racing in the Chasing Fire trilogy...

It took ten years for Hudson Chase and Alessandra Sinclair to find their happily ever after, and they’re not about to let anything get in their way...

Nothing could stop the passion between Allie and Hudson—not time or distance. Not even tragedy, betrayal, and blackmail. But now they’re facing a new challenge: wedding planning. And while Allie’s social status demands she put on the event of the century, her well-intentioned family and friends have her doubting her walk down the aisle...

Hudson knows tensions are pushing Allie to the brink, but he’s not letting her throw everything away over some flowers and cake. He has plans for his new bride, and unlike their last adventure, he's determined that this time there will be no unwelcome surprises. But for all his determination and control, there’s one element Hudson Chase has never been able to predict—and she has some adventurous ideas of her own...

My Thoughts:
Oh, how I have missed Allie and Hudson. This was the perfect little novella that gives a peek into what our favorite couple has been up to. I loved getting to read about their wedding and honeymoon( fun fact: they went to the same place my hubby and I went for our honeymoon). I also loved getting to catch up with Harper and Nick. I didn't realize how much I actually missed this series :( It was barely a hundred pages, but it crammed a lot of info in. In my mind, this couple is living happily ever after and contemplating having babies. If you're a fan of this series, you must read this.

Praise for the Chasing Fire trilogy

Review: Not quite perfect by Catherine Bybee

Not Quite Perfect (Not Quite Series Book 5) by [Bybee, Catherine]
Not quite perfect by Catherine Bybee
Release date: September 20, 2016
Publisher: Montlake Romance
My rating: 4
Buy here: Amazon

Synopsis:
New York Times bestselling author Catherine Bybee delivers the fifth heartwarming, flirty novel in the wildly popular Not Quite series.
Mary Kildare knows how to read people. It’s both why she makes a great therapist and why she refuses to trust the average bachelor. Staying fiercely independent has been her primary relationship strategy—until wealthy playboy pilot (and commitmentphobe) Glen Fairchild reappears in her life. After a yearlong teasing tug-of-war, Mary and Glen test the waters of attraction, only to find that their physical chemistry runs deeper than flirtation.
At first, a bicoastal romance suits them both—especially since Glen can swoop in and whisk Mary away on one of his company’s planes. But no matter how close they get, they’re still three thousand miles apart. And when Mary’s life is threatened, Glen realizes the one luxury he doesn’t have is time. Can he close the distance between them before it’s too late?

My Thoughts:

I've read the other four books in this series and I really liked each one. This book, I loved! It is easily my favorite out of the whole series. There was just something special about Mary and Glen. Mary is such a caretaker, so when the time came for someone to take care of her, I'm so glad it was Glen. You could just tell that these two would have something really special. I loved how Glen took notice right away that Mary wasn't like the usual women he dated. She wasn't interested in anything but him. Throughout the book I couldn't help but to admire Mary. After the kind of life she had it would have been so easy to fall into a "poor me" category, but she didn't. She worked hard and accomplished her dreams.  If y'all have never read anything by this author, I would suggest reading this one. It's so good that I know i''ll read it more than once.

Review: Dirty little lies by Lora Leigh

Dirty little lies by Lora Leigh
Release date: August 30, 2016
Publisher: St. Martin paperbacks
My rating: 4
Buy here: Amazon

Synopsis:
From #1 bestselling author Lora Leigh comes Dirty Little Liesa scintillating novel of the Men of Summer―and the scorching hot women who set their hearts on fire…
THE HEART HAS ITS SECRETS.
Zack Richards knows he’s asking for trouble. Trying to protect a member of the notorious Maddox family could get a man killed―even a battle-scarred, muscle-ripped alpha like Zack. But the woman who has captured his wildest fantasies is nothing like the rest of her power-hungry clan. She’s innocent, beautiful, and has quickly become the one shining light in his dark, desperate world. The only woman worth fighting for…and dying for…
BUT PASSION NEVER LIES.
Her name is Grace Maddox―and everybody knows that she is a marked woman. Targeted for her family’s sins and hunted like a wild animal, Grace has no choice but to accept Zack’s protection. In his arms, she finally feels safe. In his eyes, she sees an insatiable desire that mirrors her own. But the truth is dangerous―and could end up tearing them apart. Will surrendering to Zack end up being the biggest mistake of Grace’s life?

My Thoughts:
I absolutely love Lora Leigh. I have every single one of her books and many of them I have read more than once. I love her writing style and her characters are always perfection. I also love that there is always danger in her books, like Zack protecting Grace in this book. Zack is hands-down alpha and I love him. He's fiercely loyal and has that sexy commanding thing about him going on.
Grace first came off as a "soft" character to me, meaning she was the type of girl who couldn't defend herself and was a pushover. Well, I quickly changed my mind about that. She is a strong character in her own way. These two just fit. I really can't wait for more Lora Leigh books. She's a wonderful author and is definitely one everybody should check out.

Mini Review: The summer before forever by Melissa Chambers

The Summer Before Forever (Before Forever, #1)
The summer before Forever by Melissa Chambers
Release date: August 22, 2016
Publisher: Entangled Teen
My rating: 4
Buy here: Amazon

Synopsis:
Some boys break your heart. Others teach you how to heal it.

Chloe Stone’s life is a hot mess. Determined to stop being so freaking skittish, she packs up her quasi-famous best friend and heads to Florida. The goal? Complete the summer bucket list to end all bucket lists. The problem? Her hot soon-to-be stepbrother, Landon Jacobs.

Landon’s mom will throttle him if he even looks at his future stepsister the wrong way. Problem is, Chloe is everything he didn’t know he wanted, and that’s...inconvenient. Watching her tear it up on a karaoke stage, stand up to his asshole friend, and rock her first string bikini destroys his sanity.

But there’s more than their future family on the line. Landon is hiding something—something he knows will change how she feels about him—and she’s hiding something from him, too. And when the secrets come out, there’s a good chance neither will look at the other the same way again..

My Thoughts:
This book took me a hot minute to actually get into, but when I did, it was soooo good. I love characters that are flawed, perfect characters just aren't that fun for anyone, right? Chloe was such an inspiring character and at the same time I kinda wanted to smack her and wake her up. She was basically traumatized from what happened to her with an ex-bf. So, when she arrives in Florida she is not looking love or anything else for that matter, which makes this book even more perfect.
Landon is a character that you really can't help but to love, he has a disability that he is very insecure about and he pretty much let's it run his life when it comes to what he should do about his future. I loved these two together, they were so cute and adorable. The perfect lazy day beach read.

Love is never more real than when it's forever.   ADD TO GOODREADS

cease-ebook-cover-finalPROLOGUE

Time after time, I never cease to be amazed at how deeply I can be hurt.
Just a flesh wound, Mama.
Jim’s words echo in my mind over and over again. They’re all I hear as I watch my husband— the man who taught me that men can be good— being lifted into the back of the van by his brothers. Blood pools at the bottom of his vest and drips to the pavement.
My daughter— the precious baby I thought I’d lost forever— is being carried to the van by the boy who became my son at the age of eight. She’s lost so much blood. The dark red liquid completely covers her face, neck, and chest. My heart falls into my stomach as I catch sight of the blood smeared all over Ryan’s cut and his face.
My husband’s been gutted and my daughter’s been sliced open.
Both bleeding.
One dying.
Maybe two.
Hopefully none.
And all I can think about is my own selfish need to keep them with me. If I’m not a mother to my daughter or a wife to my husband, then I don’t know who I am. I’ll still have my sons— all three of them— but it’s not the same. My boys don’t need me the way my man and my girl do. I won’t get to hang on to Michael for much longer. He’s a Mancuso and he’ll be staying in New York to take over the family— and it doesn’t matter how I feel about that. Ian, my eldest, has his wife Mindy. He thinks he still needs me, but he doesn’t. Ryan, the boy I have to remind myself isn’t really mine, has Alex. My daughter.
If we lose her, there’s nothing anyone can do to make it better. Ryan will never recover and neither will I. He’ll shut down, just like Rage did when we lost Sylvia, and even I won’t be able to reach him then.
If we lose Jim, we lose our rock. I lose the only person I ever trusted enough to give my whole heart to besides my children.
I won’t survive it.

Review: The Protector by Jodi Ellen Malpas

The Protector
The Protector by Jodi Ellen Malpas
Release Date: September 6, 2016
Publisher: Forever
My rating: 4
Buy here: Amazon

Synopsis:
THE NEW NOVEL FROM THE #1 BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF THE THIS MAN TRILOGY AND ONE NIGHT TRILOGY!

People think they have Camille Logan nailed: daddy's girl; beautiful, spoiled young woman with her father's bank balance to fund her lifestyle. But Camille is determined to have a life free from his strings. Out on her own, she's made mistakes, including one that found her clawing her way back after a stint in rehab and plenty of bad press. Now, after fighting so hard to be independent and happy, she finds her life threatened as a result of her father's ruthless business dealings. Caught between resentment and fear, Camille prepares herself for the measures her father will take to protect her. But nothing could prepare her for the ex-SAS sniper who crashes into her life.

Jake Sharp resides in his own personal hell. He was distracted from duty once before, and the consequences were devastating--both personally and professionally. He vowed never to let that happen again. Accepting the job of bodyguard to Camille Logan isn't the kind of distraction from his demons he should take. Women and Jake don't mix well, yet protecting the heiress seems the lesser of two evils. But Jake soon discovers that she isn't the woman she's perceived to be. She's warm, compassionate, her presence settling, and his duty to protect her soon goes deeper than a well-paid job, no matter how hard he fights it. He needs absolution. He comes to need Camille. But he knows he can't have both.

My Thoughts:
Jodi Ellen Malpas first captured my attention when I read "This Man", I love her writing style and sometimes after an author has such an amazing series under their belt, other books seem to fall kind of short. That is not the case with The Protector! Dare I say I liked it even more than the other books?

There's just something about Camille and Jake that I flipping loved! There was an attraction right from the start. My heart broke a little for Jake. He's such a dented man and the fact that he calls Camille his angel, makes me love him even more. There's also so much more to Camille than meets the eye. She's not a superficial, spoiled rich girl. I love the fact that Jake seen the real her.  I also did not see the ending coming! I was a little surprised at what Jake was hiding, but that's what makes the book so good. Slowly things got revealed.

This is one book y'all don't want to miss. Please just get this book and see for yourself.

“Carew brings erotic romance to a whole new level…she sets your senses on fire!” – Reader to Reader
From bestselling author Opal Carew comes her next erotic romance, Nailed.
My Thoughts:
Anyone who has ever read one of Opal Carew's books knows that they are always steamy and they always have some kinky fuckery in them. This book is no exception. River and Kane could set a room on fire with how hot the chemistry is between them. It might have started out as just a business deal, but these two are meant for each other. There's also a special surprise that I did not see coming :)

Every nerve in Allie's body sprang to life, responding to Hudson as though he was right in front of her, not miles away. Even from that distance she could feel the attraction that pulsed between them, a magnetic pull drawing her to him. This was the power he had over her, one she was helpless to resist even if she’d wanted to. Review: Run to you by Rachel Lacey

ONE LITTLE LIE. A WHOLE LOTTA TROUBLE.

RUN TO YOU
Risking it All #1
Rachel Lacey
Releasing Aug 30th, 2016
Forever

ONE LITTLE LIE. A WHOLE LOTTA TROUBLE.

Moments after meeting the most gorgeous guy ever, Gabby Winters promptly gets stung by a zillion yellow jackets and falls-not gracefully-into a stream. Yup, Ethan Hunter is trouble with a capital "hot," and Gabby definitely needs to keep her distance. Except in the small town of Haven, there's nowhere to hide from Ethan's sexy, infectious grin . . . and all the residents are conspiring against her.

At the center of the town's matchmaking is Ethan's grandmother, who's convinced their relationship is a done deal. Rather than break her heart, Gabby and Ethan find themselves cornered into pretending to be falling in love. The problem: there's serious sizzling attraction between them. And if this charade continues, they won't fool just the entire town - they might fool themselves too . . .

My Thoughts:

I have been waiting for this book since I read Rock with you. Rachel Lacey did not disappoint with her debut full-length novel. There's something about the way this author writes that I would read a phone book if she wrote it.
I love books that are set in small towns, there's just something so cozy about them. Gabby and Ethan are not looking for any kind of relationship. Gabby just got out of one and Ethan is trying to get his business off the ground, but as we all know, things hardly ever work out as we want them to.
Gabby is the first one to think that there could be more between them, it takes Ethan a hot minute to realize what he wants. My favorite part of the book is the relationship between Gabby and Ethan's grandma, Dixie, for some reason the bond between the two of them warmed my heart.
There are two more books coming in this series and I can not wait to read them.
