My Thoughts:
This book y'all. I don't even have words for it. I'm so frustrated with this book because it tricked me and I felt betrayed and I had to put the book down to collect myself. I pride myself on being awesome at picking up on plot twists. This plot twist came out of nowhere and smacked me right in the face. Don't get me wrong, I really, really loved this book. It was so good that I didn't see the ending coming,AT.ALL!!! Throughout the whole book I was rooting for Tegan and Gabe, because they were just so in love that I was praying they would find a way to get passed everything and heal together and move on with their lives. Ha. Jokes on me.
I can not say enough good things about this author though. The way she wrote about these countries and the sites, it felt like I was right there and was seeing what Tegan was seeing. I even teared up a couple times while reading about her struggles. Tegan was so young and to have those awful things happen to her is just a travesty.I admire Tegan for finally finding the strength to let go and let herself heal.
I finished this book on Saturday and I have already pimped it out and lent it to my aunt who has already finished it as well. This is a book that will stay with me for a long time, and Tegan is a character who will be in my heart for even longer. I can't really say much without giving away the face-smacker of an ending. but have faith in me and buy this book. Then come back here and we can commiserate together.
